It is never too late to get that yoga body, and your body will appreciate the care you give it. Enlisting the help of a personal yoga coach is an excellent move. As I neared retirement I knew that my body needed a lot of work. I started doing yoga at 62 and after five years of serious practice I had that yoga body. I firmly believe in the value of private lessons, and before I retired (when my cash flow was a bit greater) I had weekly or biweekly appointments with a yoga teacher, a Pilates/Barre teacher, a swing dance teacher, and my body mechanic — an assemblage that I refer to as “John’s Team”. I have had to cut back to just the swing dance lessons, but I am days away from completing a Pilates teacher certification program that has helped to take me to new levels of fitness. I will shortly begin teaching Pilates at two studios, and have others express interest in using me. There is a apparently a big demand for 68 year old male Pilates teachers!! As for you, build yourself a team, and try some Pilates!
